Besides the working groups, the largest focus of student activity will be on a final project. Most final projects will be done in groups of 2 or 3 (though with permission of instructor students can substitute an individual paper), and project topics will be chosen according to student interest. (Students must consult with the instructor as to appropriateness of project size.) Here are some sample project topics:
Look at how technological changes are affecting traditional parts of the publishing industry. How are newspapers changing? How are bookstores changing? How does online delivery differ from delivery in print? Will online services skim off the most lucrative income for local and regional newspapers?
