Nikon Electronic Imaging has teamed its NP-10 Coolprint with its new E2 and E2s Digital Still Camera System. Visitors to Seybold Seminars can observe both these products at Nikon Electronic Imaging's Booth No.2537, or at Apple's Booth. The E2s will be used to photograph images at the show, then, via the PCMCIA card, will be downloaded to a computer, where they can be manipulated, then the finished image will be printed on the new NP-10 Coolprint. This process will enable customers to witness the quality and ease of use of these products.
`Coolprint was originally developed as a companion product to our eight-time award-winning Coolscan Film Scanner,` said Douglas E. Howe, general manager of Nikon Electronic Imaging. `It also has demonstrated its ability to pair with our new digital camera, as well.`
Coolprint, which was originally announced in May 1994 and began shipping in October, has received praise for its high quality and speed -- it produces photo quality prints in just 60 seconds! The suggested list price of $1,995, and it offers a cost per print of only 85 cents. The compact, portable Coolprint is capable of 142 x 142 dpi resolution, with 8-bits per color for 16.7 million printable colors. Coolprint uses an SCSI-II interface for quick connection to a MAC or IBM/PC compatible, and comes bundled with a printer driver and all the necessary cable and cards. With its anti-aliasing outline fonts, Coolprint reproduces even the smallest point type sizes. Coolprint utilizes VP standard printer paper which is A6 size, measuring 4 x 5.7 inches. Adhesive label paper is also available. Coolprint is distributed through authorized Nikon VARs and national distributors, including Ingram Micro and Merisel. Service is provided through Nikon's nationwide dedicated service facilities, and additional support is available over popular bulletin board services such as American Online, AppleLink, PressLink and Compuserve, or through Nikon's own BBS, which is accessed by dialing 516-LISTENS (516/547-8367).
