New Media Focus Group

LIS 296A: Impact of New Information Resources, members of the group seek to look at the changing dynamics of technology and media.
By looking at contemporary mass media coverage of technology through newspapers, magazines, and televison, we hope to analyze the current surge in techno related stories and their effects on the mass audience. As mass communications reaches a new pardigm, how will the changing nature of technology affect how people get their news, communicate with others, and live their lives? The new media as it is evolving today in the form of online networks, electronic publishing, and multimedia CD-ROMs are just the beginning of what the future of mass media has to offer.
