Impact of New Information Resources: Multimedia and Networks

The Focus Groups component of the LIS 296A class served as a forum by which the students could discuss issues of specific interest outside of class. The groups formed at the beginning of the semester were Critical Theory, Information Retrieval, and Virt ual Communities. Groups served as a exercise in communication on an entirely different level -- by CMC or Computer Mediated Communication.

Newsgroups were formed to continue discussions, exchange information, and form electronic communities outside of face-to-face meetings. Please take a look at the following Focus Group Pages for more information:
