Robotics: Machines & Humanity

This discussion group was presented by Eric. For the discussion we read three pieces covering the topics of japanimation, robotics and the post-World War II obedience-related psychology experiments. We began our session by viewing a documentary about SRL, the San Francisco-based Survival Research Laboratories.

Throughout this discussion, our group repeatedly referred to the two science fiction films we viewed "Metropolis" and "Bladerunner." In both of those movies, the danger of modern technology was presented in the form of a robot, more human than human.
