Blade Runner

Blade Runner (1982), a futuristic detective thriller directed by Ridley Scott, based on the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. Harrison Ford, starring as Deckard, is sent to track down five artificial humans ("replicants") that have arrived on earth in the year 2019. He hunts them through a gritty, decaying city designed by artist Syd Mead, and is forced to confront all sorts of juicy post-modern issues of identity and humanity along the way.

Our focus group chose to view "Bladerunner," another movie, which like "Metropolis" had a vision of what the future would look like and explored the same love-hate relationships between society and technology.
