Local Image Collections
This is a selected list of local image collections compiled by Howard
Besser. An assignment for his Fall
1995 Image Database Class requires groups of students
to visit, review, and report back to the class about how one of these collections
(or another collection approved by the instructor) organizes and manages their
visual information. In addition, many students will want to do follow-up papers
or projects with the collections they visit and review. A list of sites
actually visited is also available.

Berkeley area collections
We are hoping to set up some distance learning facilities
so that Ann Arbor students can work with collections on the UC Berkeley campus.
Berkeley's Museum Informatics Project
is planning to assign a coordinator specifically to deal with
(and evaluate)
communication between Ann Arbor students and
staff from Berkeley collections.
-
Berkeley collections
that you can work with for your final group project.
Many of these also have interesting related topics
for your independent paper and project.
