Focus group members:

Meeting times: Fridays, 9:00-10:00 The Information Retrieval Focus Group discussed some of the issues in networked multimedia information retrieval. We alternated the discussion between technical and philosophical topics. For example, we spend a considerable amount of time discussing filters, their usefulness given the current technologies and the consequences of relying on them. We paid special attention to very large chunks of information and how knowbots work (or don't work so well).

The various backgrounds of the focus group members added some very interesting aspects to the discussion, ranging from computer science topics to cultural implications, as our bibliography demonstrates.
