In order to study the cost of digital image distribution, we first must determine whether faculty, as end users, will use digital images and what the impediments might be to their use. This chapter presents the findings of focus group interviews with visual arts faculty about using digital images in the classroom. Issues discussed in the focus groups included image quality and selection, metadata, technical support and training, tools, time and recognition, and resources and collaboration.
